The Postgraduate Specialisation Programme (MSc) in APPLIED BIOCHEMISTRY started operating for the first time in 1994 with the aim to meet the needs for deep Biochemical Education in Greece under the title “Applied Biochemistry – Biotechnology”. In 2011, where three Departments related to Biochemistry have been funded in Greece in graduate level, the MSc Programme was titled “Applied Biochemistry: Clinical Chemistry, Biotechnology, Evaluation of Pharmaceutical Products” to indicate in details the level of knowledge of post-graduates. In 2018, and in line with the requirements of Law 4485/2017, the program was re-launched in the form of a Joint Postgraduate Programme in collaboration of the Department of Chemistry of the University of Patras and of the Institute of Biosciences and Applications of NCSR "Demokritos".

The programme has been designed in such a way to provide the post graduate students with not only the required most updated scientific knowledge and laboratory skills in the field of APPLIED BIOCHEMISTRY, but also to take due care for the development of their associated communication and information technology skills.

In the present webpage you can find, among others, information for the structure of the programme, its regulations, the time-schedule of the programme, the courses offered in the context of the programme and their detailed contents, the teaching staff and their most recent research areas immediately related to potential postgraduate research projects for the new postgraduate students and, finally, information on past postgraduate students of the programme.
